PHYZIKAL is an American Recording Artist, Producer, DJ and Audio Engineer who grew up in the South Suburbs of Chicago.

Born Shaun Duncan in Matteson, Illinois, PHYZIKAL is the son of veteran award-winning music producer & composer Darryl Duncan, who worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Shaun’s amazing talents are in his genes.


Shaun originally started his musical journey at the age of 3, when his parents placed him in piano and violin lessons. In college, he began to DJ both on & off campus under the moniker of “DJ PHYZIKAL” due to his deep interest in physics & astronomy. He later dropped the “DJ” portion when he began experimenting with music production and making his own beats in 2015. PHYZIKAL began rapping on his own productions and realized that he had great potential as a recording artist. He released 3 full-length projects in 2018 and earned tremendous respect and accolades in the world of underground Hip-Hop for his incredible and powerful beat-making skills. He eventually found success selling his beats online to indie artists and has developed a loyal following of clients, fans and admirers.


Now it’s full steam ahead as PHYZIKAL looks to build on his reputation in the music industry as both a producer and recording artist. He is ready to take the world by storm as he proves that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

​It is very important to note that all of what you will hear below was done with a laptop, a pair of headphones and a mic.  Due to school and work, Shaun did not have the access to the benefits of a commercial studio.  Just imagine if he was professionally recorded in a fully equipped recording studio.
